Your township wide pickup will be FRIDAY effective the week of January 2, 2006.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Trash & Recycling will be each week per schedule with first pickup on January 6, 2006.  When a holiday falls during the normal work week, collections are delayed one day for the remainder of the week.  Observed holidays are:  New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4^th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

All material should be set at the curb by 7:00 am on the scheduled day of pickup.  One large item per week.  Containers should not weigh more than fifty (50) pounds each.  All material such as carpet, must be in 4’ lengths and tied and bundled.  For those with special pickup needs, please contact the township.

UNACCEPTABLE MATERIAL:  Tires, Concrete, Fencing, Contractor Generated Materials, Free Liquids (paints, pesticides), Car Parts, Car Batteries and Appliances Containing Freon.

Recycling bins are available by calling your Township Hall.

NEWSPAPER – Place newspapers in brown paper bags or bundle and tie with string

CARDBOARD – Clean corrugated cardboard must be bundled and tied in two (2) foot squares, not exceeding a thickness of one (1) foot.

PLASTIC - #1 and #2 plastic should be rinsed clean with cap removed.  No motor oil, anti-freeze, or cooking oil containers please.

CANS – Clean tin and aluminum cans.  These items may be flattened to conserve space in your container.

CHRISTMAS TREES – Christmas trees will be picked up with the normal household refuse from December 26^th through January 15^th.  All large trees must be in bundles less than 4 feet long, weigh less than 50 pounds, and no tree limbs in excess of 2” in diameter.

DUE TO NEW RESTRICTIONS FROM THE RECYCLING CENTER WE CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT GLASS

●For major remodeling and cleanups, Richfield offers Commercial/Roll off containers.

●With proof of residence, residents are permitted one free dump (approx. 2 yds) per month at our landfill located in Richfield Township.  Call for details 1-877-609-6753.
